Responsibilities
General Purpose:
This role provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, management and ongoing support of Microsoft M365 cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services that provide university-wide business services. This role has a strong requirement for PowerShell expertise.
Experience with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, virtual private clouds (VPCs) and virtual private networks (VPNs) is required. An understanding of security concepts, such as encryption, identity and access management, and cloud security policies is also necessary. A foundational knowledge of systems engineering concepts is also required, including virtualization, storage, compute, collaboration, and infrastructure resource management.
Development, orchestration, and automation, utilizing PowerShell, are key deliverables of the individual with this role. Repository tools, such as Git, GitHub, or SVN along with a foundational knowledge of scripting languages are required to allow for the quick deployment and management of all M365 resources.
Active Directory and Microsoft M365 design, deployment, backup, recovery, and operational support is required. Successful management of the performance, capacity, health, resilience, availability, costs and feature set lifecycles of cloud-based solutions are expected of this position. Troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise in the environment along with implementing proactive preventative measures to prevent repeat incidents is also required.
Overall, this position is responsible for ensuring the M365 cloud environment adheres to University standards and policies as well as industry best practices resulting in systems that are highly available, scalable, predictable, fault tolerant, and secure.
Responsibilities :
Prepares use case requirements, designs solutions, and deploys cloud-based infrastructure.
Integrates on premise solutions with cloud solutions.
Automates and deploys solutions hosted on both cloud services and on-premise infrastructure.
Independently completes proactive performance monitoring, analysis, alerting, reporting, and tuning.
Independently completes proactive capacity analysis and provisions solutions.
Completes maintenance activities.
Completes incident and problem analysis, resolution, and follow-up to ensure platform stability.
Completes the implementation and management of data backup, recover, business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.
Implements automation and orchestration solutions for cloud management
Creates, reviews, and maintains technical documentation including solution designs and reference guides
Leads discussions of new cloud services, features and functionality that will help enhance the delivery of cloud services; engages vendors as appropriate.
Creates required documentation to ensure conformance to University standards and procedures.
Shares best practices and is consultative during the design of cloud solutions throughout their life cycles (planning, development, testing and stabilization).
Participates in the cloud governance process.
Maintains a knowledge of cloud technologies.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
4-5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified required.
Deep and broad technical skills for service design and delivery, including infrastructure and application components required.
Must be able to communicate clearly and facilitate discussions required.
Recognizes strategic business opportunities required.
Experience in system development life cycle, business analysis, project management, systems integration, software and SaaS development and the administration of service platforms, public/private cloud platforms, databases, and networks, are desirable.
Candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment required.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $ 75,300 - $113,000 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
